SOCALM and SDMC members participated in a custom earplug fitting event at our house. The event was organized by my wife, Jeanne. She had read an article in the LA Times newspaper which discussed the effectiveness of custom ear plugs in reducing wind noise, for motorcyclist. Plus, these plugs were completely legal according to the California Vehicle code (section 27400), because they're custom made, unlike common foam or silicon plugs.

Jeanne contacted Greg and Tyler Paulson of Skorpion Racing (Laguna Hills, 949-472-1177) to schedule a fitting. People were organized into 20 minute time slots, with 6 slots per hour.

We promised Greg and Tyler a minimum of 15 people, but in the end a total of 27 people got fitted with some people getting fitted for 2 sets, making a total of 32 pairs of earplugs made. With the amount of people we had, we were able to get a group discount. A pair normally costs $35+tax.
